Antimicrobial elastic medicinal bandage

Antimicrobial series

The antimicrobial elastic medicinal bandage is intended to prevent vein diseases and heal veins by compression, and cure tendon sprains, dislocations, and other injuries of the legs by helping secure the injured leg in the required position or prevent edema.

The antimicrobial properties of the bandage in use are due to the fact that the synthetic multifilament binder thread, with an antimicrobial additive included, that faces the body is always in contact with the skin and prevents propagation of fungi and gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, and drains moisture to the upper layer of the bandage consisting of a face yarn that soaks up the moisture and expels it outside to keep the body dry when the bandage is used.

The antimicrobial additive has a multiple effect on bacterial life processes by preventing the proliferation of fungi, gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, and mold, and development of any infection under the bandage.

Since the bacteria-resistant additive displaying an antimicrobial effect is introduced into the thread mass, rather than the thread surface, it does not migrate from the bandage to the skin and always remains within the bandage, even after repeated laundering.

The bandage is manufactured by LEONARDA-SERVICE LLC, Russia.

The bandage is an elastic two-layered warp-woven knitted sheet 40 mm to 120 mm wide, with the layers linked together by elastic threads, at least one of the sheet layers consisting of synthetic fibers modified with an antimicrobial additive. The other sheet layer is made from natural cotton yarn. The bandage has a moderate elasticity.

Bandage varieties differ in width and length only because of difference in the circumference and length of legs or arms.

The bandage to be manufactured has a length of 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 5.0 meters and a width of 80 mm and 100 mm.

Antimicrobial socks

  • improved stretch and deformation resistance (it retains its dimensions after laundering); and
  • the bandage is adapted for use in the field (because of its antimicrobial properties).
